This Masking Mud protects areas from fusing or soldering, so I use it anytime I want an area protected during torch operations. Masking mud works beautifully to protect previously soldered seams and areas in danger of over fusing. It works just as well on all varieties of silver and gold and is much easier to clean up than ochre. So helpful!
